La Cité Historique de Hamdallahi
La Cité Historique de Hamdallahi is part of the Tentative list of Mali in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The historic city of Hamdallahi comprises the remains of the ancient capital of the Diina. It includes the ruins of the Tata (mud brick fortification wall), Sékou Amadou Palace, several mausoleums and the new mosque. It was built in 1819 and abandoned in 1864, but is still in use as a pilgrimage site.
